Thanks for opening up your earbuds to the flavor that is Che Zifandel. Influenced by such artists as: Marvin Gaye, Fiona Apple, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, James Brown, Sade, Nirvana, Lil Kim, Prince, The Pixies and many more, Zifandel is a singer/songwriter who loves to blend the styles of soul, blues, and alternative. Born in scenic Colorado Zifandel was musical from a young age. Zifandel procured a Casio keyboard as a child and has had everything from four track recorders, to Roland workstations, to ProTools. Che started off playing piano, then violin, and eventually moved on to guitar. Poetry, spoken word, and rapping seemed to come naturally to Che as English was her favorite subject; she loved wordplay and the idea of moving people with words. Although a participant in choir both at church and at school, it wasn’t until moving to L.A. and picking up a guitar that Che realized she had the gift of singing as well. Zifandel quickly became a fixture in the open mic scene known for her penetrating lyrics and raw vocals. Che Zifandel has played shows at Café Muse, Ten Forward, and the famous Pig n’ Whistle in Hollywood. She is now in the studio recording and collaborating with other artists from the L.A. music scene. Be sure to download the first single “Drugs and Hypocrites,” produced by Che and CDP and executive produced by D. Maurice Carmon. It is available through iTunes and other fine online retailers.
